Bhum Counter - Bhutanese Lotus Design - 925 Sterling Silver - Medium - Unique
I recently returned from my 4th Buddhist Pilgrimage to Nepal. This year I was also fortunate to be able to spend 4 days in Bhutan visiting many sacred Vajrayana locations including the revered Tigers' Nest Monastery (Taktsang Gonga). Along the way, I hand-selected many Buddhist objects and practice supplies.
This is a very unique Bhutanese Lotus shaped Bhum Counter. I picked these up from a small shop near Boudhanath Stupa in Kathmandu, Nepal. The last time I had these in stock was after my 2022 Pilgrimage to Nepal. These sold out in the Autumn of 2022 and I could not find any when I returned in 2023. However, I was fortunate enough to pick of a few this year.
These medium sized Bhum Counters are excellent for smaller to medium sized malas. The lotus is 19mm long and 8mm wide. Total weight is 2.2 grams
A Bhum is used to mark location on your mala and to keep tract of tens of hundreds of thousands and even millions of mantra. These are often referred to as million marker counters.
