Citipati Mala - Yak Bone Carved Skulls Beads - Unique Long & Narrow Style - Rare - Tantra

This is a 108 bead Yak Bone skull carved Citipati mala with a Yak Bone Citipati Guru Bead. This style of mala is unique as the Citipati skull beads are long and narrow. As a result, this is one of the longest Citipati malas I am offering at this time. Please take note of the lengths listed in the last paragraph.

I picked this up from a small shop in the market area of Thamel. The skull beads are hand carved, finely detailed, and very intricate with a beautiful even darker bone beige color. The yak bone Guru Bead is a has striking marking and compliments the mala very well.

The skull beads vary a bit in color tone, size, and form. However, all 108 beads are carved into small human skulls from Yak Bone. These Citipati beads are aligned in the same direction throughout the mala and have an even consistent shape. Excellent for Tantra Ceremony, wrathful mantra practice, or as a gift to you dharma teacher or friend.

The total length of the mala laid flat from the top to the bottom of the guru bead is about 28.25 inches or about 71.76cm. The total length of this Citipati Mala is 30.00 inches or 76.20cm to the bottom of the mala cords. On average the skull beads are about 13.5mm long, about 10mm width, and about 7.75mm thick. I restrung and double-laced this mala using 1mm black nylon cord for added strength and durability. This is finished with a sliding knot to adjust the tension of the mala.
